The lighter was more or less of an universal accessory. The same basic lighter was used from 1937 thru 1954.The 1937-42 had the green eye in the lighter knob. The 1946-51 had a chrome knob, the 1951 thru 1954 cars that came with a lighter as standard equipment had a knob that matached the other dash knobs of those years. The dealer installed accessory lighter for those years had the old chrome knob. This should enable you to expand your search....try ebay.

Ray,
Is there any demand for the radios like the one shown in your picture. I have three that would be considered parts radios.I bought them several years ago and intended to combine them in to one good one for my 46 but later sold the truck.

Not really. It costs almost as much to restore that radio as it does the full size push button radio. It is the only radio available for the 1942-46 truck. That is the plus side of the coin.

How about '41 Pickups?? Same model as referenced in '42, was that radio available for the '41 as a dealer install option for under dash like you show it?

No, the 1941 had a chrome face universal radio that mounted under the dash on the truck and through the dash on the car. The radio is easily identified by the data plate on the side. The number starts with 1941. It has 4 adjustable round pushbuttons. And before someone asks, the 1940 was similar, and the data plate starts with 1940.

Thanks Ray. Because the '41 PU was the same body style as the '42, one might assume that the radio might have been the same or very similar. The '40 was a different body style, and I would not necessarily have the same expectation. Under normal circumstances you would think that GM would not obsolete the radio after just one year, but thanks for the update. My '41 has a small aftermarket solid state 6V radio hanging off the IP. It works OK, I will keep my eyes open for the correct one from GM w/ chrome detail and '41 label. Thanks again. Bowtie

Hey Ray, check out this one:

Does that look like the 41? The plate isn't completely clear. Bowtie.

That is a correct car/truck radio for 1941. Notice the B41 on the data plate.
