Howdy
We picked up a 41-46 Chevy 3/4 Ton AK series from the guy that had it in the bushes. The Last Project

I say the dates 41-46 since the cab has the post-41 door latch and back window fitting but the engine is coded 41 and I have not been able to access the trans #, cab tag and reg is 46.

That said I am hoping to restore if the 216 is able to be freed and I'll need a carb when we get there

Torq Tube and diff in the bed, rust, body work etc and I am getting old so its the last project
Thanks ...von

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your project, vonkluver. We are looking forward to seeing pictures. Where is Walnut Creek?

Welcome!

A quick watch of your video suggests a 1946 with the rubber rear window mount and door lock location as you point out.
And the chrome grill.
It's not a '41.
Early production '42 may have had chrome (someone else may know this for sure).
No 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks were produced for civilian sale through the war and right up until the second series 1946's.

If it's a 1946, the serial number should have a "DR" in it.
What is the engine number?

Again, from a fellow '46 3/4 ton owner... welcome!

An AK is a 1941 1/2 ton
The 3/4 ton is an AL
If I remember corectly the 1/2 ton has 6 wheel studs and the 3/4 ton 8.
