I would like to add turn signals to my 32 Chevy roadster (6 volt system) using the existing tail/brake likes and cowl likes. Does anyone have a suggestion on a kit which is easy to install?

Easy depends on the ability of the installer. I have turn signals on my 32 with the LED conversions in the rear. They are super bright-much more so than the original. I got the kits for the rear lights from The Filling Station. My car is a standard sedan thus does not have cowl lights. Dual contact sockets were added in place of the original park lamp sockets in the headlamps. A friend did the wiring and I was the helper. The directional switch should come with a wiring diagram to follow.

I added turn signals to my 31 using the original tail lights and cowl lights. If you want the cowl lights to still operate as parking lights (on with first detent of the light switch), and flash as directionals, you will have to change the sockets from single to dual contact. I did this and you have to be creative as the dual filament bulb is quite a bit larger than the single filament bulb and space is limited in the cowl light housing. I used to have some pictures of my conversion and I’ll see if I still have them. You will need to run an additional wire in the chassis harness for the right taillight, disconnect the wire feeding the brake lights from the brake switch and connect from the brake light switch to the feed of the directional switch on the column. The remainder of the wiring should be in the instructions. I didn’t in my own car yet but I’d recommend installing the third brake/directional light that’s available in 6volts. This will offer brighter and higher rear lighting. The LED light works extremely well and is barely seen in the rear window of the car.

For my '32 sedan I purchased my 7 wire turn signal kit from Rhode Island Wiring http://www.riwire.com/ . They included clear instructions, diagrams, and tech help as well.

I went through a few cheap tin can flashers until I installed a 6v electronic flasher that works great with LEDs

The Filling Station I believe sells the LED tail light conversion kit.

I went south on my signals... bought 6v LED lights and put them on Flag Style Mounts on each Corner, then had RI Wiring build me a custom harness, and then used SM Electro-Tech Signal System also installed third brake light by BrakeLighter using the suction cups, so it can be easily removed if desired.

i am very happy with it, looks great, works great... that electronic box for the signals is the cats meow !!

best part is you can set it up so that the signal lights on the rear also work as brake lights, and you can wire up the BrakeLighter so that it works as turn signals as well !!

it all comes down to what you want on your Chevrolet. I want to be safe and be seen !! plus i am a tech geek so love the ability to put in some tech that is 6v !!
