Hi group Does any one know if or where I can get a coil for my 1936 Chevy Master coup. It has the ignition wire coming out of it to the switch. I believe it is failing because when I reach 50/55 the engine cuts out, so I roll of the gas just a little and then back on and it picks up as if nothing happened. No popping back firing or any thing.
No, it accelerates strong with gas peddle to the floor between all gears and has zero issues until I reach 50 or 55 and then the motor just stops running. So I take my foot off the gas let slow a bit and then roll back into it and it picks right back up with no back fire or any thing.
Sounds like it’s running out of fuel, since you can let off and the fuel will have time to fill the carb. If you just go half throttle can you get it up to 55?

yes, I was thinking vapor lock but it does it cold or hot. It is running on a electric fuel pump that is mounted in the engine compartment witch I have already replaced but doing some research I read that a electric fuel pump needs to push fuel not pull it and should be close to the fuel tank so I plan on relocating it back by the gas tank and running new rubber gas hose to see if that may help. Also think I my take it to a dyno to have it tested.
I’m not a ‘32 carb expert so this might not be relevant.
Some electric fuel pumps will produce more pressure than the float and needle valve assembly can handle. That can most likely cause flooding. Then when the system clears out there will be a low fuel event until the system catches up and floods again.
