The driver side (right hand side in my case) window winder in my '39 Master is totally worn out, the spline has been badly damaged. Does anyone have information about where I might be able to source parts to repair this please?

Mike Buller has done a great job in his thread explaining the process. Do a search under his name here on the Chat. Look for “1941-48 window regulator repair”. I tried to copy a link to it without success.

That's perfect Bill, thanks. I've looked at the parts referenced in the thread, but can't find the splined shaft that the winder fits onto, anyone know where to find one, if they are available? Otherwise I'm on the lookout for a complete regulator.

Go to ebay, and put this in the search box: "1939 1940 Chevrolet window regulator repair kit". There are several.

Just had a look as you suggested Bill, thanks for that. Have a pal who is visiting his daughter in Kansas soon, will see if she can order one for him to bring home for me. He's already arranged for a couple of parts to be there when he arrives.

Ha ha ha. I have the same problem in reverse. My splines are OK but the handles are stripped.

At least the handle is much easier to replace!
