Thanks Jerry. That is interesting. I think I have seen the looped bolt around here somewhere! It doesn't look like the ends of the band are fastened together after they are looped. Dave

Thank you! I found a bolt , it may work but does not look like yours. Maybe it was aftermarket. Dave

I have a few of the bolts. They differ a bit over the years. I have used banding material for the strap. It folds toward the muffler side so It can't escape or stretch, once installed. Mike

Thanks Mike. I am going to keep looking I swear I have something like that band. May be gas tank straps. Dave

Dave, I know I have an extra muffler strap here. It will take a day or so to find it, the problem with having stuff at two different locations. I’ll let you know asap.

Dave, here’s a few pictures of what I have. The packaging remnant says it’s for 29-52 Chevrolet commercial and utility…

Dave the bolt is 3” long overall and the threaded portion of the bolt is 2”. I think the strap may be short at 12-1/2”, but you could use any good strapping material and use the fancy special bolt. I think it’s the same as the one in Jerry’s pictures.

Wohlert made a lot of stuff OE and aftermarket. I googled them a few years ago and they are still in business as an oe supplier. The REO museum in Lansing has a big Wohlert banner up in one of the galleries. Anyway thanks again! Dave
