Will a 1966 impala 12 bolt fit a 1966 chevelle with no altering?

The 1966 and Chevelle models are a bit later than my knowledge if they are both leaf spring the 1st problem is spring seat position or if 1 is coil and 1 leaf spring you have another problem. As I think the Impala is a wider car so therefore use a wider axle housing and spring mount position. Take a suitable length measuring device and lots of photos to compare the 2 before putting either vehicle in the unmovable situation.

No, an Impala 12 bolt will not fit a chevelle, both have coil spring rear suspension, but the arms are completely different locations and angles.
