Hello Chevy Lovers! Glad to join this group! I have a 1928 Chevy National 1 ton flatbed, all original. Beautiful, rust-free, straight truck, not quite running, but it is all there. Should run fairly easily. New tires & battery, recent upholstery and roof. Believe it or not, it was a 50th birthday gift from a friend (5y ago)! It was his father's, who was second owner. Came with original Title which is super cool. I found nice 1928 matching MT plates which are now registered to the truck. Just need to find time to finally get it running... I did build a building especially for it, just so it would not sit outside, ever.
My 'daily driver' is a 1966 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 flatbed, K10, named 'Dell'. Have had it for 22yrs. 292-6. Essentially original. Best truck i ever owned, would never sell it! Dell works for a living, hauling horse hay, firewood, whatever is needed. It's has led a few old car tours for my local car club.
Have a few other old truck projects, but not Chevys: a '66 Ford F250, and a '50 Willys CJ3A w/ snowplow (which is my main project right now, as i need the plow to be plowing snow.) Yes, i know, a traitor to the Chevy cause!

Steve, Welcome to Chevy Chat. That sounds like quite a truck you have there. VCCA members can post photos. Non members can post them to a hosting site and publish a link here. I like the sound of that '66 K10. I bought one years ago, from my wife's uncle. It was a short bed Fleetside with 292/4 speed. I sold it to someone in the Detroit area. I drove 2 K10 Chevys. The first was a '71, the second was a '72. Together, they were my daily transportation from about 1976 until 2017. I put about 250,000 miles on them. I'm getting soft in my old age so my "NEW" truck is a 2004 Silverado with a few more creature comforts than my old K10s. I also have a pair of '28 one ton Chevys. They are available to a new home, I don't have the time to work on them. Once again, welcome. If you need some "tune up" stuff to get your truck going, I might be able to help. BTW, If you don't know already, Early '28 trucks without front brakes are series LO, Later trucks with 4 wheel brakes are series LP.
I also welcome you to the VCCA's chat forums! This is THE place to hob knob with old Chevy enthusiasts!
I highly suggest that you squirt some automatic tranny fluid (or Marvel Mystery Oil) into the cylinders and let it soak for a while before trying to start it. Also, if you don't already have an owner's manual and shop manual, get them. Lots of vendors carry reprints.
Welcome sir. I am a rookie member but in the last few months we have touched every moving part on a 1 Ton LP. And we went to a junk yard and got 2 more. I have plenty of parts to help you with your truck. Make sure the rear axle housing is not stuck in shackels. All three of these were. These trucks are more contagious than Covid. Being down here on the Gulf, I can't help you with the snow plow. But if you have a hurricane plow, can I borrow it? LOL Stephen
Thanks ALL for the welcomes and offers of support. I do look forward to getting the '28 running again. Should be a fun touring/parade/hay hauling vehicle. A neighbor with a '53 flatbed built a 'gypsy wagon' on his, i like that idea too! If I need any parts, i will be sure to contact you, Spyphish. amazing that you found 3 in your area. I've never seen another '28 Chev 1T in Montana, but plenty 20's IH trucks...
