First the weather was great for both events. Imagine that.

There was a lot of nice Chevrolets at Hershey for sale. I mentioned the 1942. In addition there was a couple of 1950 convertibles that caught my eye. One sold for 32k while the other, as far as I know didn't sell, it was 42K the best I recall.

Jim Darby a Chatter Moderator from Washington state came by my spaces at Hershey. He bought a few things from me. Said he drove all the way out to PA for the event. Quite a drive. Long and tiring for sure. He must have came by himself. I know I couldn't have put up with anyone else along for such a cross-country trip. At some point all passengers would have been left beside the highway. Yep! He must be a great man.

Jim was nice and when I asked about BB way out ther in WA he said some nice things about him. I don't remember what he said exactly bit I agreed that BB is a top notch guy. Is too!

It seems that signs have taken over from parts at both events. Never seen so many and the prices are out of sight. I bought a large Fisk "Time to Re-tire" sign that cost me more than any right minded person should ever pay. The little boy with the candle makes the sign just wonderfully great. At least to me.

I looked around for a set of 600-16s fot the old 41 driver coupe but didn't find a set at either event. Used to be that show cars owners would take off the old tires once the white started to fade a little and sell the old ones a Hershey. They were usually in good shape without detectable cracking and good for many more miles. You could pick them up for a couple hundred bucks. Good 670-15 takeoffs were plentiful but not 600-16s. Go figure.

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. Sorry if this has been boring.

Best,
Charlie computer

Rory,

Thanks I did have a good time. Has been that way for me, rain or shine, since 1970.

Also, I know about the Coker tires and their products. I'll be getting a new set of Firestones or BFGs for the project car as soon as it is ready for them.

What I need now is a set of good take-offs for the driver 41 coupe. It does not warrant me a-running around on a new set. It would be like donning a brand new pair of Ostrich-skin boots to go muck out the stable. You know. Agrin

John,

I agree we didn't see as much of each other as I would have liked,

We'll do better next year.

To Others:

John is a great guy and the best of neighbors at Hershey. Over the years I have found all kinds of neighbors at meets. John is the best. dance

Charlie,
the feeling is mutual! I don't vend at any other meet then Hershey and I could not ask for a better neighbor. You do tolerate a lot from my crew, we have New York mouths where every other word is some sort of a swear and the sad part is some of the guys don't even realize it.
Hopefully God willing we will all be there 362 days from now. As usual we will be in touch before the swap meet to assure that you have an easy load in and make sure to give you some extra real estate for a smooth Tuesday morning.
It was also great to see your son Dan again

I am glad that you and Dan got to see my 60 Impala on Saturday morning when we unloaded it at the spaces. that night I received my Preservation Board at the awards banquet, and as we pulled on the field Saturday some members of the AACA National Awards team was looking it over, so you never know.

I am still tired from the week. Every year that I take a car to show I say to myself that I won't do it again it is just way too much work. When I don't I feel like I missed out.

All the best my friend,

John
