First the weather was great for both events. Imagine that.
There was a lot of nice Chevrolets at Hershey for sale. I mentioned the 1942. In addition there was a couple of 1950 convertibles that caught my eye. One sold for 32k while the other, as far as I know didn't sell, it was 42K the best I recall.
Jim Darby a Chatter Moderator from Washington state came by my spaces at Hershey. He bought a few things from me. Said he drove all the way out to PA for the event. Quite a drive. Long and tiring for sure. He must have came by himself. I know I couldn't have put up with anyone else along for such a cross-country trip. At some point all passengers would have been left beside the highway. Yep! He must be a great man.
Jim was nice and when I asked about BB way out ther in WA he said some nice things about him. I don't remember what he said exactly bit I agreed that BB is a top notch guy. Is too!
It seems that signs have taken over from parts at both events. Never seen so many and the prices are out of sight. I bought a large Fisk "Time to Re-tire" sign that cost me more than any right minded person should ever pay. The little boy with the candle makes the sign just wonderfully great. At least to me.
I looked around for a set of 600-16s fot the old 41 driver coupe but didn't find a set at either event. Used to be that show cars owners would take off the old tires once the white started to fade a little and sell the old ones a Hershey. They were usually in good shape without detectable cracking and good for many more miles. You could pick them up for a couple hundred bucks. Good 670-15 takeoffs were plentiful but not 600-16s. Go figure.
Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. Sorry if this has been boring.
Best,
Charlie
