I am having trouble finding the trans oil capacity ON my 27 Capital AA. Thanks

There is a level plug in the right side of your gear box, fill to that level with the car on a level surface.

I know that, but i need to know how much to buy,ie: one pint, two pints etc. I am changing the oil to the correct 600W.

I don't know the exact answer to your question, but here is my take on buying the 600W oil.

Considering that the transmission, the u-joint, and the differential all use 600W, you are looking at roughly 1+ gallon to take care of all three.

Instead of paying a lot per quart, I opted to buy a 5 gallon bucket of it from a local industrial oil dealer. Granted, I have two vehicles so I use roughly 2 gallons per year. I think going this route is cheaper than buying the Mobil 600W by the quart.

RBrown back in the 1920's gear oil wasn't measured out in pints or quarts. It was in pounds. For a 1927 Chevy transmission it was 2.5 pounds of 600-W gear oil & the differential took 4 pounds of 600-W gear oil. Together it would be about 1 gallon. Engine oil & coolant were measured in quarts.

In the later years it was refered to in both pounds and pints and they were the same. To refill a transmssion buy a common quart and that sould be enough with a small amount left over for future use.

Thanks, that is what i needed to know as that i am only changing the transmission, and most of the vendors are selling it by the quart.
