I need to replace 216 engine in my 40 coupe due to blown engine. The service manual is somewhat vague about removing the front end as a single unit before swapping engines
Do I remove both outer and inner fenders at the same time? Also sounds like radiator stays in place and not required to be removed separately. Is this true.
I don'the want to unbolt more than necessary, but am concerned that the total weight of the front clip might be too much for two persons to lift..
Good advice is always welcome..

Just discussed this topic 2 weeks ago. Here is the posting. 40 Engine Removal
I like to work alone so do not take my 41 front end off in one piece. I go through removing everything piece meal. This way I can manage everything by myself. It is tricky getting everything back in alignment. So pick what best works for you.

Good luck, Mike

Thanks for the feedback and the link to similar topic . A lot of good info. I need to address some rust issues so may end up disassembling more than less...
