I am new to this website. I recently got back into researching my family history which has sparked a project I would like to do with my father. So upon researching my family history my great great grandfather owned the fallowing Vehicle see picture.
We still even have some of the product he sold from this truck.
So I need help getting started on knowing the year and body manufacturer. This project would me so much to me and my family bringing two historical items back the truck and the family history together.
Thanks you for your help.

Judging from the short cowl (the sheet metal piece between the hood and the beginning of the body), I suspect the entire body was made by someone other than Chevy.
Below is one page from my 1927 Chevrolet Commercial Line catalog. When looking for a chassis to recreate the family truck, this is what you are looking for.

According to my copy of the 'Master Parts Price List' (effective 2/1/28), the rear fenders of the '26 1 ton (Series X) and the '27 1 ton (Series LM) are the same part number.
Part numbers for other things (front fenders, chassis cross members, running boards, and others) are different for the two models. Since my book does not have pictures of all parts, I have no idea what the differences are.

Yes, that sounds like a good deal. Are you going for the look or totally authentic recreation of Grandad's truck?
If you put '27/28 headlights on this '26 and use a '27/28 radiator shroud, I suspect very few people would be able to tell that it's underbelly is a '26.
Does it have the left front fender?
FYI, I noticed a '28 head in one of the photos. That's a desirable head, if it's good.

Here's a '26 1 ton that has a '27/28 radiator shroud:

So my journey begins to restoring a 1927 1 ton Capital LM truck. Dean and I set forth on this journey. Saturday Morning on 7/28/15. It all began when we finaly reached Herbs house.
This is what we saw when we arrived.
I had to take a picture with Herb to mark this moment of picking up my very first restoration vehicle ever.
Getting my 1927 out of Herb's backyard with his 1926 car.
Here is a video of it being towed.
Loading it up on the trailer.
Here are some more picture of the vehicle.

The open top cover on the oil tube was last used on a '27 engine. '28 blocks had a oil draft tube from the front of the block to the carburetor and a solid top cover.
