Hi there grease monkey 123 here.
Question--Did the 57 chevy 6 cyl engin with manual trans have hyd liftersin it like the engin with power glide?
Also is a complete rear end on a 52 4 door the same as on a 2 door sedan? Thanks for any info

ALL Pasenger car engines from 1956 and up had hydraulic lifters. All 235 truck engines had solid lifters. There were two gear ratios used in 1950-1952. The 216 standard transmission cars had a 4.11. The 235 engine Power Glide cars had a 3.55 ratio. The body style had no affect on the ratio.

Gene, I know that you have pointed out in times past that the 53 and 54 standard transmissions had a 3:70 rear gear ratio. This may be of interest to 123. Charlie

But other than gear ratio was the tube length and housing the same on a 52 4 door as a 51 2 door.
