1952 styleline deluxe 216 standard

1. Is the green stuff still the recommended anti-freeze?

2. What is the best flush.. Still running the original radiator so do not want to use anything too harsh.

Thanks

I have been using the green stuff in my cars and have no problems.
All radiator cleaners today are pretty weak and are formulated more to remove slime rather than rust. I have used the more heavy duty type and never had a problem.

Green antifreeze/coolant or inhibited DI or distilled water are the only coolants that should be used in our old Chevys. Using anything else is asking for trouble.

Brand name doesn't much matter. There are only a couple of antifreeze manufacturers left in the US despite the number of brand names on the jug.

Peak makes an antifreeze called "conventional green" and it is most like the older formulation. I have found it at Advance Auto Parts.

The yellow-green Prestone at Wal-Mart is marketed as "all makes all models" and has a formulation very similar to DexCool. Most of the antifreeze available is similar to this if they say it is good for all cars and extended time/mileage.
