How do I hook up the throttle cable to the carburetor on my 1948 Fleetline? The car has been in the family since 1949 and has far has I know the cable has never been hook up. I have had the car since 1977.

There should be a metal "clamp" on the top of the carburetor, to hold the cable and the cable goes vertically down and to the gas pedal linkage...You probably have a cotter pin near the bend where the cable should go...

Can't post a photo...But, a helpful member will...That should clear things up...!

I have trouble posting photos but can send you one via email. I have a carb that is off the car and can send you a very clear photo if you want. Beamer

I wasn't so sure it would work that well with as easily my cable would slide back and forth...But, it does...And it really is a "must have" during warm up, etc...
