Does anyone know what this is? It appears to be an early attempt at a spotlight that either clamped on a windshield or buggy dash. It would have clamped on the windshield frame in the teens and twenties.

That's what I thought. It is very rudimentary. Interestingly, the bulb still works! It is an 1132, 27CP and is quite bright. The back of the reflector (outside) was so corroded I couldn't tell what it was so I bought some brass paint and painted it after cleaning it real well. I also polished the inside of the reflector. It still had some original cloth insulated wire. To attach the wire, you unscrew the back of the switch and that exposes two small set screws. You just put the ends of the wires into a couple of holes, tighten the screws, put the switch back together any you are ready to go. This was in a box of junk someone gave to a friend of mine and he gave it to me. Beamer

But once they are messed with (like painted, polished or altered) then they lose all there value and worth nothing>>>>>ED
I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED

I would venture that the electrical connection to the rear of the light resembles our competitor.

Oh well, win a few, lose a few! In the state it was in when I got it, I wouldn't have imagined it was worth more than a couple of dollars. I guess the next time I get something old and rusty, I will post a photo of it first. Beamer
