I believe the front piece for the 30 is the same as the trim for the 31 top. I just bought 3 eight foot pieces for my 31 sedan at Bob's Automobilia in Templeton Ca. They have it made and it is identical to the old stuff that was on the car.
There seems to be trouble with their web site, but they are definitely in business and open. Address is Box 2119, Atascadero, CA 93423 and phone is 805-434-2963.

how wide is the molding you are talking about it seems it would need to be about 1 inch wide

No i have that this part would cover the seam where the fabric meets the rail cover, and appears to be 1 inch wide.

These are aluminum strips 5/8" wide and kind of a 'L' shape. You nail thru the strip and bend the leg of the 'L' over the nail heads.
