Sorry I dropped off so long but theres been more family drama than a convention of drag queens lately.

That being said I finally got to go through the 24 and I found all of the original side curtains in the trunk, along with the brackets for door mounting.

Whats the best way to make a template for these so someone else can duplicate them for their car? just trace the outline?

I also have alot more recent/more detailed pics posted of the 24. I still heavent gotten under the seat yet though, I am hoping the tool kit will be there. I will keep my fingers crossed. http://s1181.photobucket.com/albums/x440/bangel2/

You can make a paper pattern that can be sent and reproduced by a good upholstery shop. We made a successful transfer on the pattern for my 1925 Roadster.

In one of your pictures of the right side of the motor it looks like the remains of the back end of the generator and an armature? That one must have been replaced.

That shot shows what remains of the "REMY" starter brush endplate(which I keep in stock),and you can see some more of its crumbled remains on the floor.

Great photos! Does anyone know what the device is that appears to be coming from the water pump grease cup hole? Is it oe?

Thanks

Would that be a water pump grease cup?
Believe the original was much smaller.

The oil pump is identical to my '25.
I thought the '24 oil pump was ahead of the generator assembly.

My 24 oil pump is on the back of the Remy generator. My water pump grease cup is just a simple turn down cap ,very close to the pump.

1923/24 was the change over year for Chev electrics, when they went from AUTO-LITE(with the timing gear cover mounted oil pump)to REMY,with generator mounted distributor & oil pump.
According to my 1925 DELCO & REMY catalogue, there was even a special REMY generator for RHD export 1923 Superiors, which still used the timing gear cover oil pump, but had a SIMMS magneto mounted on the generator casing.

I stand corrected on the oil pump location. Guess I was thinking of the 1923 location.
