Hi The book says the small screw head on dist housing represents #1 piston, then #2 clockwise from there Correct? There are two screws for the clips ,one for he condenser, the 3rd one is overthe delco plate. I assume that is the one. not sure , Thanks Stan

I use the terminal closest to the tab on the cap. Or the depression in the top of the distributor. It is also closest to the middle screw (one without spring).

I always remembered this way, 15 she's too young, 36 she's too old and 24 she's just right!

Chipper .. when you refer to the small screw in the dist body, is it the one directly above the "delco remy face plate? I'm still unclear where #1 is on my distributer cap. Thanks

The number one spark plug wire is located in about the 6:00 position on the distributor cap. It is also closest to the middle screw (one without spring). There are only three screws on the distributor body...two with spring clips for the cap and one without a spring clip. That is the screw located above the "Delco-Remy" name plate.
