Man, I'm sure envious. But very happy for YOU.

CONGRATS to you on a nearly completed great project.....

Bill.

Thanks Bill! We moved here this past year and the old house had just a small single. This house had a double, but also some yard space to build on. I'm not getting any younger, so here we are!

Well, we were up early, went to the building center and picked up a load of insulation, R14 for the walls, R20 for the ceiling & rafter vents. Back home, Jen & I started putting it up. She started on the walls and I started on the ceiling. Took most of the day, but it's done. Next is vapour barrier & strapping for the ceiling!

Just a couple of thoughts before you close up on the inside. Be sure you have at least 50 outlets on the inside, perhaps more, but seriously many and don't forget to have one external outlet on each side of the building. You should also consider doing the same for water outlets, perhaps one on each opposite side. Once closed up on the inside it is too late.

It is already too late to double the size of the building. I predict you will have all space occupied within 90 days of completion.

Ask me how I know?

I think you are being generous with 90 days.
It will be a worthwhile exercise just the same.

Make sure you have a drywall jack to hold the panels while you screw them to the rafters. It is worth its weight in arms!

Well, the building inspecter came by this morning and gave me the go ahead to close off the ceiling and walls. I'll pick-up my drywall tonight and rent a lift in the morning. Also picked up all of my flourescent light fixtures and lamps! yay

Owww...boy, i guess I didn't realize how many muscles I haven't been using! willy Bought 26 sheets of drywall last night. Up @ 5:30am, out to the HD Rental for opening @ 7:00am. Rented a drywall lift and went back to the garage. Got everything organized and a light, and went to work. Worked steady all day, with Jen's help. Ate lunch while working, stopped for 15 min for dinner and done by 6:45pm. Back to HD to return the lift, showered, and now watching the hockey game. I'm sure I'll pay for this tomorrow!! doh

Didn't get too much done today. Swept and vacuumed the dust and debris from yesterday. Wired in the thermostat. Put up a couple of pieces of OSB so I can get the heater installed this week! laugh

I'm sure it's not as cold as where you live! But it does get frosty and white here for a few months!
