Can you post a picture of the hole your talking about? They are two drain holes, one for trans and the other for freewheeling.

What type of "plate" are you referring to?

It is in the middle of the transmission plate and the hole is about 1/4". I also notice a small leak from the gasket so I will be removing the plate to replace the gasket.
I will be out of town for a month-will continue this then. Thank you.

Please define "transmission plate". Do you mean the transmission cover?

It sounds like it could be a power take off cover, however, I think that Paul has a 1932 coupe. Actually, it would help if Paul could be more specific when asking questions so that we can provide the right answer to the question.

OK, here is a picture of the bottom side of a 32 transmission. So which hole are you talking about and where is the plate your talking about?

Please except my THANK YOU! You all tried to help me but I was wrong in my description etc. I now understand that the plate/hole I was referring to was the plate just forward (towards the engine). I believe that the whole there is correct. The trans oil coming out that hole is draining from my trans---PROBLEM! looks like I must pull the trans and reseal!
Any other suggestions?

OK, it sounds like your talking about the Flywheel bottom cover which has a hole in the bottom.

So most likely your cluster shaft is leaking or your front bearing is leaking. Take the transmission apart and use gas tank sealer when installing the lower shaft. Put it around the hole before you slide the shaft in and then coat the outside when finished.

As to the bearing, get a sealed bearing and remove the inside seal and keep the out seal. This way you can get oil to the bearing from the transmission.

You can PM if you want more details.

Are you talking about the flywheel cover below the flywheel? If so, that is not a plate, that is a sheet metal cover. Please be more specific.
