Besides burning the light filaments a little hotter, can anyone think of a reason why you couldn't put an 8 volt battery in place of the 6 volt?
Just wondering.

your generator/regulator will probably not charge if they are left as is. mike

Hey Gotta,
Just in case you're having second thoughts.....
I don't think you'll find anybody on this site (me included) who would encourage you to switch to 8 volts.
Bottom Line: Just say NO, to the idea of 8 volts.

I put an 8 volt battery in one of my Farmall tractors. I just had to tweek the generator and voltage regulator a little. Now before you guys jump on me I live in MN where it gets to 30 & 40 below. I would not do it in a car because I would not use it in the winter. The extra couple of volts does help when it is very cold out.

That is where I think an 8 volt battery belongs our Tractor Supply Company stores still sell 8 volt battries.
