Thought it might be nice to have a thread where the first picture of a project car and the most recent picture of the car was posted. Just to show the progress over time.

My family's cars:

Bought the 1987 Monte Carlo in 1987. It was all original except for the rims and the AC was converted to R134a by the dealer. I received the original hubcaps but have no designer to go to 14 inch wheels. Changed the top and have enjoyed it.

Bought the 1941 in 2018 as a father son project. Had planed to get it on the road in three years and have it done in four. Got it on the road in four years and still do not have an interior other than seats and a carpet.

Main point is we enjoy both cars.

1931 Cabriolet Lester pulled home on his honeymoon in 1958. Used it as a field car until 1961 and then put it in his corn crib. I bought it after several owners decided it would be insane to fix this one.

Here is another Then & Now Project.... I had been wanting to buy an old 1928 Chevy one ton, flatbed, farm truck... that I saw sitting in the forest near an old homestead in southern Colorado... and dreamed of building a motor home out of it... to live in and travel with.... So... I lengthened the frame... and, put a 4.3L V6 chevy engine in... 5 speed tranny.... rack and pinion steering... better brakes... and built a tubular steel frame for the oak body..... Rebuilt the old hickory wooden spokes, and made 21 stained glass windows... double bed, propane stove w/oven, sink with running water, solar lights &music..... and a good running home on wheels.... It took 10 months to build and about $10,000
My wife and I drove it and lived in it.... from the Canadian border near Montana down to southern Arizona, several times over several years.... sold it for $45,ooo realizing that dream come true..... what fun.... Sunny

This 1934 Master had been sitting in a field in the high mountains of Colorado since early in the 1970's....... wind, sun, blowing dust and snow...claimed some of 'her' beauty... but when I saw 'her' laying there... I recognized the lingering beauty in the shape of 'her' body... and thought that I might be have the skills and ability to bring 'her' back to life... back onto the road again....
And NOW... 'She', starts right up, with the first few cranks... and there is a very deep throated rumble out of the exhaust pipe (along with a little bit of blue smoke)... The new interior is clean and comfortable now... and we are both very happy to be .... alive, and on the road again....
It only took 11 months and about $6,000 ..... and some advice & help from my friends here on VCCA..... Thank You.... Sunny
