Lookie what happens when you glue the front end of a 1957 to a 1959 rear end.

Yes, one of the most beautiful designs that I have ever seen.
Front starts as a '57, Dip at rear of door a 1958, and the rear of a '59.Who could ask for anything more?
I LOVE IT......... dance :cool2:

Unbelievable!? The company (don't know who at the moment) is planning a production run of about 100 vehicles.? Sits on a Corvette C6 chassis, front styled like a 57 Chevy, side like a 58, rear like a 59.? Hence the designation "789".?

This was at the beging of the email that I got with the pictures. Thanks Bill, it looks great.

Now why couldn't Coddington come up with something like this?
Because he is Boyd Coddington?

Hey, I checked out that link..........the 5 to 1 isn't too shabby either.

Are the Kanter Brothers VCCA members??? They should be even if their cars are "new".

I wonder if they would take a 48 Fleetline in trade??  wink

I like both the 789 and 5to1. I know why most makes are going alloy wheel but for practicality reasons I prefer a steel rim. Alloy wheels dont like parking close to the kerb or with low profile tyres potholes in the road.

The designs seem to me to have been done by highly talented artists.

That indiviguality in design seems to have almost gone by the wayside in the effort by every car company to market a computer designed image of the most bland design possible to appeal to all buyers, with the add on bells and whistles the main selling points. I think this company's designs will receive mostly favorable comments from those of us that appreciate Vintage Chevrolets. I like them!
Maybe one with a retractable bubble top like the 59-61 hardtop?
I would also love to see what they can come up with to be used on a modern Trailblazer chassis with the new inline six.

Since it is not assembled by Chevrolet. Do we accept this car in the club ? Do we form a Non-Geographic Region for it ?
Would you like to see it a VCCA events ?

One of these was auctioned in February
I believe in Atlantic City.
I never discovered the results.

It seems like "we" may be getting a wee bit ahead of ourselves here.... Does anyone in the VCCA even have one?? A non-geo region of none or one or two owners seems kinda odd.

If anyone in the Northwest Meet 'area' (Ore, Wash, BC, Cali, Idaho etc) does own one, I sure wouldn't tell that owner he couldn't bring his 789 to the NW Meet in Yakima, WA this summer.

Here's a LINK to the above mentioned Atlantic City Classic Car Auction.

Apparently there was a '789' there. It was auction item Number 2040.

Here's what I found for Auction results

It went thru the auction on Sunday at Noon. It appears the bidding got close to the 'retail' price; but apparently it did not sell.

Bill.
