Hi All,
Recently acquired an old Chevy Truck Shop Manual which features Military 1-1/2 ton 4x4 that I am not sure of the year issued. There are 252 pages divided into 22 sections. I have not found any print date in this manual. I suspect it is from WW2. Below are links to some of the pages. Anything to pin point the print date of this manual is appreciated.
Cheers!

I would guess that it was issued in late 1942 or 1943.Looks like the army trucks Chevrolet built at that time.

Hi Gene,
Thanks for sending two pages from the "75 years of Chevy" book which show the same models as in my manual. 1st page and 2nd page Going by your book, this narrows it down to 1943 - 1945.
On another forum, it was suggested my manual could be a "post-war" issue because of the reference in the Foreward about converting from a four-wheel drive to two-wheel drive for highway use. Plus the reference to removing the winch, PTO and revised lubrication chart for commercial lubricants.
Any ideas?
Cheers!

Keith, I would recommend listing as ca1946. The reference to the commercilisation of the WWII trucks would place it at least as late as 1945 when the first civilian jobs were produced.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

I interpret the converting to highway use as being for the military use-in flat lands and paved roads when higher speeds were required. I would be intrested in seeing the revised lubrication charts.

Do appreciate the help Guys!
