I am sorry to be so stubborn on insisting on confirmation, but could someone who has a 1937 Chevrolet Shop Manual look up the diameter of the crankshaft journals listed in the manual and report the listing for me. My 1938 is an original printing and many others are telling me it is wrong. If I saw it in a 1937 and in a 1939 (like Gene has so kindly done for me) I could be convinced my 1938 Manual and my 1935-1952 "Motor Manual : Keep em Rolling" are both incorrect. ?? Please bear with me on this one (Thanks for your patience)

You know the joke: "I was wrong once: you know what it was? I thought I was wrong!"

I sat here searching my brain trying to think of any more material I would have with demensions, etc. Then the light went on.The complete specifications that come in the restoration pack available from Chevrolet............
You can order yours by calling 1-800-222-1020 (in US) or by mail-
GM Customer Service
PO BOX 33170
Detroit,Mi. 48232-5170........for the newer members. They will ask for the year of your vehicle and THE SERIAL NUMBER.have it ready

Found this info. in the engine soecifications.The same for 1938 and 1939 (I don't have a 1937).

The CRANKSHAFT demension agree with the 1939 shop manual for both years. Then they show the BEARING demensions. The inside bearing demension for a 1938-39=
front-2.6865-2.6875"
Ft Int-2.7175-2.7185"
rear Int.-2.7485-2.7495"
rear-2.7795-2.7805"

Perhaps if someone has a 1937 restoration pack they could let us know what is says.

The inside bearing demension is adjustable by removing shims.
