Hello!
This time, I am looking for info on restoration/replacement for factory AC tach on a 64 409. It worked intermittently for a while, but has given up completely now. Does anyone make a replacement unit that fits in the original housing?
Thanks,
Joel

I would suggest having the rare and expensive tach repaired...try Willamson's, at .....service@williamsons.com....

Before you send it away for an expensive repair, make sure all your GROUNDS are good. That's usually the cause of erratic tach function.

Williamson's did a conversion for me. I have a 6 volt pos ground setup w/ 6 cylinder, and they converted an old 4K Sun tach to run without the sender. Certainly not for judging, but the technology exists to simply eliminate the sending unit (and rare battery) from the circuit. One could always retain the sender for appearances sake.
They have access to many types of Sun Tachs and can do a traditional full restore as well. The prices are quite reasonable.

Thanks to all! Williamsons's sounds good- also have a few other options looking at.
Thanks again!
