For a 36 standard. Need some help on numbers. The only thing I see are two stamped numbers.

3FC01 and 21409.

3 = ?
FC = standard
01 = January?

21409 - production number, first being 1001?

3 = St. Louis

01 = January

Production numbers started at 1001, so you car was the 20,409th vehicle built in the St. Louis factory in 1936.

:) wink :grin:

David, thanks for the link, but now I'm confused, more so than usual. The tag on the firewall shows style number 36-1217, which shows on the Canadian list. So does this mean the body was made in Canada and the car was assembled in St Louis?

I am now confused as well! The body would have been assembled by the St Louis Fsher Plant...SL code? It's on the plate in front of the body sequential number. The designation for a 2-passenger Standard coupe appears to be Model 1207 and yet in Canada it was 1217. My book tells me that the 1207 was a 2-passenger Coupe until 1935 then in Canada it became 1217. By rights my US listing should say that the model was 1207 as well. I wonder if there was an error or whether there was a running change?

For 1935 the 2 passenger Standard coupe was a 1207.In 1936 it became model 1217.
The info I have on Canadian models shows the 1935 as a 1207 and a 1936 is a 1217.

If the car was assembled in StLouis the Fisher Body tag on the firewall should have a S in front of the body number.I do not see the body number listed here-did I miss something?

Firewall tag shows Style# 36-1217 and Body# S 2328, so I guess that means it's a St. Louis car. It hasn't strayed too far from home in it's 71 years.
