Louis C., I don't even cook beans anymore since there is just the two of us at home. My wife won't eat beans. I buy them at the local supermarket. I found that Bush brand suits my taste, I even like their white NAVY beans, It reminds me of a trip furnished by the USN when we had Navy beans for breakfast a time or two. I just open a can, put them in a pot and constantly stir them as they warm up to keep them from sticking to the bottom of the pot and burning. Burning beans have a bad smell, don't you think?    Didn't have any beans for my birthday, just steak (I burned them myself on the propane grill), baked potato, salad and CAKE! Again Thanks guys, KDan you can erase this thread and get it ready for someone elses Birthday if you feel fit.Thanks......
