First, is anyone having trouble using the search feature? Since the new website update, I haven't been able to search successfully for anything. Second, I rebuilt a 1954 235 taken out of a GMC truck, at least that was what I was told. I don't remember if it was a 1/2T. At any rate, my truck is a 3/4 T and I wanted to use the bellhousing and starter motor from the 1954 235, but apparently the motor mounts are different than the ones on the bellhousing of the 216 that I took out of the truck. Can I use the starter motor from the 235 with the bellhousing from the 216? I hope I haven't confused everyone.

We need to know what year the motor is going into to give you the correct info but you will most likely need to use the original bellhousing if you are using the original trans if its a 47 and earlier and the starter from the new motor will work as long as you use the same flywheel. Jeff

Are you aware that in 1953 and 1954 GMC didn't use a Chevfolet engine in their trucks it was a GMC engine usually a 228 or a 248 CI engine in a half ton truck check out an GM interchange manual to see what will interchange from GMC to Chevrolet.
This is a general information thing, all bets are off for a Canadian built truck.
