if any of you guys are goin, look for an old 1956 GM 4104 ex Greyhound bus. she's dull aluminum(dull like driver) with a dark blue upper beltline paint. we'll be over by the drag strip in that camping facility. stop by for a Pabst or what ever is on sale this week in cumberland. mike

You should see a great race Mike...round and round like racing in a washing machine.

Have a cold one and cheer for the Chevys...Looks like the new Chevy driver and points leader Mark Martin is going to miss this one...so maybe one of the Jeffs will win, JJ needs to let someone else win, LOL.

You got a blower on that '56 bus?

671 detroit diesel with huffer. top speed of 70 , 9 mpg at those interstate speeds. won't stop on a dime though.about as graceful as a pregnant elephant on ice skates. was originaly a Reading Pa greyhound. in early 80's was bought by a bluegrass band who sold it to me in 1990 when they got too old to drive the beast(no power steering). love the old girl. mike

Sounds like a real cool ride...hope the blue grass band didn't hid any non-blue grass inside the bus...LOL...Willie Nelson's bus puts out more smoke than diesel smoke...LOL.

I broke my foot last week so I will be watching the race with my foot propped up and a cold one and cheering for 24, 48, 31, 5...then any Chevy will do.

their initials(the bands) was CC and i think that referred to the Country Classics. it was definitly Country something. they were out of Thurmont Md, near Camp David. by now, i'd suspect the brothers/cousins are having their mail delivered by the groundhogs as they were elderly when i bought the bus about 15 years ago. mike

Maybe it was the Country Gentleman. It had to be a good band if they owned a bus to travel arround with. Most Bluegrass pickers don't make lots of money playing this wonderful music. They play it for their love of the music and it is very fun to play. Thanks...Oscar dance dance dance

cheering for 24, 48, 31, 5

Mike, Wish my cheering always had this good of an effect on the race...LOL. #5 = 1st place, #31 = 2nd place, #24 = 3rd place.

You did see some historic stuff:

1. First NASCAR race for the 'car of tomorrow';

2. Last race at Bristol before they rip it all up and make it a progressive track;

3. First win for an IMPALA SS since 12-1-63, won by Wendell Scott at Jacksonville, Fl.;

4. 600th NASCAR race won by Chevy (no one has more wins);

5. 8 of the top 10 were Chevys (5th and 9th = Furd);

6. J. Gordon takes the lead in championship points.

Are you going on to Martinsville?!?!?!

Next race
