Anyone have the part numbers (and willing to post them here) for the correct front and rear shocks for a '57 Chevy?

Thanks.

These part numbers are from the 1957 parts book-

The front shock part number was 5531202 for regular sedans and hard tops. Also had an ID # of 510F
Part #5524088 was for cars with air conditioning, wagons, convertibles and heavy duty suspension.Had the same 510F ID #......shocks were "valved" different for the heavier models.

The standard rear shocks were #5531211 and the heavy duty wagon, convertible, etc. version was 5524089....either rear shock also had a 560Y number.

Any of the shocks would be of the sprial type.Sprial groves wrap around the main body of the shock-upper part on front and lower part on rears.Shocks were painted a semi-black.There are fairly good pictures of the sprial part in the shop manual.

The original shocks for 1955 and 1956 carried different numbers....also by 1959 they combined all the 1955-57 shocks under a new number.

I believe that there are places either reproducing the sprial shocks or rebuilding them.

The shock also had a date stamped into them-like 4-57 etc.

I can't remember just what numbers were all stamped on the shocks.I have some old originals around but will not be able to get at them for a few months (winter/snow/car storage)
