I'm wondering if anyone knows how I might find the original Serial No. of my 35 Coupe. The I.D. tag is long gone, so is the Original Engine. It does have the original transmission and rear end. Not much hope but maybe a chance.

Unless the original car serial number is listed on your title then the changes of finding the serial number are probably nil.

If you have the original title, the DMV, in most cases, will assign a new VIN number embossed on a tag, to attach to your frame. If you should happen to know the clerk, they might emboss the original number on the tag.(that's what I did) The older cars VIN numbers were placed in areas that usually deteriated from the weather .,like WOOD.

My '35 Master 4 door Sedan had the SN Plate at the bottom of the passenger door sill tacked to the wood. Other than the number on the motor casting, I don't believe that there is anywhere else you will find a number.

I do have another title and SN plate from my parts car, but it was also a '35 Master 4 door sedan. Call 817-545-0115 if you have interest.

I assume by "ID tag" you mean the tag on the cowl. Look on the floor between the passenger's seat and the sill or door. There should be a little metal tag with the model and number on it. On my '35 Master it's screwed to the metal floor pan with 4 clutch head screws.

I have a 35 Std Coupe. The I.D. Tag was nailed to the wooden sill inside the passenger side door. It was rough but readable. I do not recall seeing the number stamped in the frame when I had the body off, but it may be there. If you have a title with a VIN that includes the letters EC, that will be the number that would have been on the floor tag.
