I just recieved my copy of "Standard Catalog of 1950's Chevrolet" by Jon Robinson.......this has to be the worst of the so called standard catalogs that are published by Krause Publications. There are so many errors its unbelieveable. Example, page 32,1951-Power Glide cars had the bigger engine with pressurized oiling, they also had a higher pressure gauge on the dash.-same on page 15 for 1950 models....pagge 57-all 1953's finnaly got pressure lubrication.Page 18-"A Chevrolet could be ordered with optional Power Glide automatic transmission in 1950,A Chevrolet had the same pressurized oiling insert bearing 235 cubic inch six found in GMC trucks" Many of the cars pictured are poorly restored examples .............don't waste your moneyThere are better sorces for information.

Yes....I thought it would have been a little better as Bill Dirnberger, are area rep and 1951-52 Tech. advisor was consulted on some things before it was printed.I guess they didn't follow his advise. If they would only have some one with a little knowledge proof read it first.

As you know I have been harping for years not to purchase any of the Krause "Standard Catalog of Chevrolet" books. The Krause publications are pure trash and even throwing their books in the garbage can degrades the receptacle in which they were deposited! If you think your book is bad you should see the one on the early Chevrolet models. There is nothing correct in that book!

I have recently seen both good and bad reports about The Bumper Boyz in LA. Some really praizing them for good quality, but others claiming they are only supplying short-lived finishes, turning red after only a year or two. Same kind of story have come to my attention as to Kepich Exhaust. Anyone having their own experience with those boyz? Please, me.  :/ :(

The only saving grace is that they did put a cool car on the cover...IMHO.

Haven't had any experiance with Kepich Exhaust. I have not really thought it is a good idea to order an exhaust system since I ordered one from a nationally known vendor for 49-54 Chevrolets. I gave them all of my make, model, year, series, engine, transmission etc. and I received a $250 generic system that didn't fit anyway I arranged it, after two days of crawling around on the floor and then took the car to the muffler shop, 2 hours and another $40 and it was right. I could have had a custom bent and welded system for $150 and no crawling around on the floor, from the home owned muffler shop. Once is enough for this old fat guy, that don't like to smell his own sweat..

A lot of them claiming the boys never recieved the item to work on, or sending back an item that wasn't the one sent in, the one sent back was bent, warped etc. And that the finish was poor or too thin.

So we should be very careful, taking reservations, when we tell other Chevy owners to take precautions, or may be not use these boyz. :(
Anyone having some news about Kepich. My exhaust system (stainless) is still working very well (since 1994)
