I'm starting a new thread to discuss the results of the 2007 Annual Board Meeting.

FIRST REPORT---
Within 30 minutes of the opening of the meeting, a new President was elected. Standard nomination procedures were followed and three nominations were accepted. After open discussion, the nominations were closed resulting with a SINGLE person being nominated for each of the three open positions - President, Treasurer and Secretary.

The Board agreed to accept the slate and then, the three nominees were welcomed as being duly elected to their positions since each position had only one cadidate.

So who were they? I'll tell you right after we go to a commercial?

I have to ask this question, Bill Barker.......DEAL OR NO DEAL?

SECOND REPORT

Very lively discussion about the Chat "virtual" region being sanctioned. Voting now complete.

The result?

ha ha.. You guys provided a good laugh... this is welcomed in the middle of this l-o-n-g arduous meeting.

When we break for dinner, I'll post a quick summary of the day's decisions... it only seems appropriate to not give blow-by-blow until they've completed their wrangling... :eek:

I will tell you, that on MANY fronts, a lot of you will be very happy with the results of this year's Board meeting. They have addressed a number of the onging issues that were alive over the past year. Not all motions were decided, some were postponed for further review. But the ones of "high interest" do have resolution.

See you in about 5 or 6 hours. Go work on your car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys have changed the profile and many perceptions of VCCA!

I think that the BOD will also appreciate our interest. Maybe they will realize that we are supporting the process, rather than trying to stick a wooden shoe in the gears. We all only wish for the best to happen to this organization.

I hope that they will all join with us on the soon to be members only site where we can have good open discussions to improve our great club.

I can hardly wait to hear what the "BANKER" has to offer.

Okay, it's just after 5 o'clock and the Board Meeting has recessed for the day. Here's a quick recap... Please consider that this information is "unofficial"...

Here are a couple of items that Jim and I thought that we heard the same way!!

1) All new members will receive their first G&D mailing via First Class postage. This will help give a better first impresssion to new members.

2) The CHAT Non-geographical region was approved. We will post some other comments and suggestions on the other thread about this new Region.

3) The new president of the VCCA will assume his role at the banquet tonight. Congratulations to DON WILLIAMS!!

4) The newly elected Treasurer was Joe Smith and the Secretary will be Steve Scott. Again, congratulations to both of them.

5) Two nspiring presentations were given by both Bill Barker (Website) and Michael Welch (Marketing). The message was that we need to change our club's ways in order to meet the pending membership demographics over the next 4 or 5 years... Afterwards, many Board members brought up numerous ways that we can use the web and computing automation in more beneficial ways for the club.

6) A new "Driving" class of cars was approved... They must still support the fundamental philosophy of the VCCA but will be allowed to have alterations which make the cars more "driveable" such as radial tires, air conditioning, seat belts, turn signals, etc. Wait until you see the detailed description before you ask any questions about this one!

7) The Board agreed to have all G&D ads posted to a secure locaton on the website and give the password to all members. The timing is that these will be available approximately on the same day that the G&D is mailed.

8) One final item that was approved is that the VCCA will now recognize ALL years of Chevrolet and will allow all cars 24 years and younger to park on the display field.... Hooray.

That's it... just a quick review of the hot items... there was about another 50 items that were discussed, approved, or tabled... They'll all be listed in a future G&D.

A short while ago talked to a person attending the BOD meeting. I will not steal BBBs thunder but seems that the VCCA is on its way to transitioning into the 21st Century.

You guys must of been on a roll to bring up and agree of all of that. Thanks everyone.

Thanks to BBB for all of his sweat and hard work (and late hours) and to all of the other members that have worked so hard for these new ideas that have now taken root and will help the VCCA travel successfully into the future. IMHO

Hey "Mangey Old Dawg" any port in a storm" I was here and since they were talking about sending NEW MEMBERS' G&D by FIRST CLASS I would do some bitchin' (but I will be a good boy and post it there!)


Now where was that thread?

I was lucky to be an invited guest at Saturday's BOD meeting and make a small presentation regarding my "findings" from the 2006 Colorado Donation effort.

Since this was my first BOD meeting I did not know what to expect. But I was very pleased and impressed with both the promptness and thoughtfulness of the members motions, questions, comments and votes.

More specifically my view is that this group of board members {and newly elected ones} are a positive group of professionals working together with a dedication and direction of "improving" VCCA.

So CONGRATULATIONS to all of the board members for supporting the club in such a positive way. And best of luck to all the NEW Board members.

And for those of you, like me who are enjoying the changes and improvements in the VCCA web & chat site, Bill Barker made a wonderful presentation about how he envisions the web & chat site growing and improving. So thanks Bill.

And to other VCCA members, like me, who have been wondering about VCCA future, it seems to be in very capable hands. Now all we have to do is our part, participate, VOTE and enjoy the club.
