Hello, I am new to this. I have a 1926 Chevy Coupe that I am trying to find some info on. The tag says Superior K, but I found pictures from Chevy that call it a V-Coupe. What is up with that? It has the build number on it. Is there a book that you can purchase that tells color of interior/exterior?

The serial number plates for both the Superior K and V series have plates that have Superior K on them. The difference is that the later V series have a serial number beginning with a "V". There are other differences with the water pump, lower radiator hose location, spark and throttle controls and others.

The plate on the fire wall job 6730 body 13119.

Hi tcgood, The plate on the seat superior-k IV63402. I will format that information. On the top line is the word: SUPERIOR. On the second line is K 1V 63402 or This gets messy. There is the line of thought that says Chevrolet had many data tags already printed and continued to use them. IV is actually 1 V and says that it is a 1926 and was assembled in Flint. 63402 less 1000 (start #)= 62402th car assembled on that assembly line and the date would be approximately late September. The plate on the fire wall job 6730 body 13119. The 6730 says: 1926 Two Passenger Coupe 13119 is an assembly total at that point.

Sorry, I missed that part of the question. The body would be Dundee Gray, black fenders and splash aprons, Light chrome yellow striping. Interior is velour.

And (if I'm not mistaken) even though the color is called "Dundee Gray," it is actually what we would think of as a pale green, almost Alvacado.
