I can't complain. Well, I could but it wouldn't change anything.
I never had any money to speak of, which is the main goal of many people, but I do have two good children and a few good friends. I finally have all the woodworking tools I could ever want, the culmination of a dream I thought would never happen.
I have my frankenchevy. It's a good thing it's a frankenchevy too. I'm a perfectionist at heart and being slightly away from what it was originally allows me leeway to play and enjoy it without fear of being less than perfect. Now if I can set a trap for those )(*&^&*( gremlins.

Oh Boy guys.........today is the 12th of January, I've paid my dues and I still don't have a January G&D. I'm still laughing, but this could be getting serious!!!! Oh maybe Vermont is considered international and I won't get the G&D for several months like the guys in the UK, Norway and Down Under!!! If I don't get a G&D pretty soon, I t could be one of those rare times I get offended

Hi 42bill,
I just sent an email to Jean Fink asking if it was mailed yet or if there was some other problem (probably just snail mail). I guess I just don't understand why some months I get the G&D within the first week of the month and other months I don't see it until midmonth or later. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.
Edit: Last time I checked the map, Vermont was still in the continental US, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Ken,
I'm convinced it'll all work out. Of course I'm not on your end of the situation.....
It is weird how your delivery dates vary so much. Makes me even more grateful I usually get mine right around the First.

Hey Bill, Sure, I'll pour you one and if it doesn't dissapear I'll have to get rid of it myself. I just had one but if this keeps up I'll have to get another 1.75 liter bottle.

Ken, It is weird how your delivery dates vary so much. Makes me even more grateful I usually get mine right around the First. Bill. We have the same here in Norway. In 2nd part of last year the G&Ds came so delayed that we were struggling keeping some of the members staying in VCCA. They are not satisfied with the recent situation, and CCON really hope for a soon information about a better future deliveries from the VCCA board. We are having our annual meeting on Sunday, 21st Jan. and it would be nice to explain to the members about a much faster and regular delivery.

Luckily we are near to the North Pole and St. Claus living nearby, so we finally got the double issue on his way back to his home. We have no Vermont here, but we might tell the reindeer man to stop for a quick delivery to you as well next December.

Well thank you CCON guys for the kind offer to have Mr. Claus and his reindeer make a special stop next year. Delivery of my G&D always seems to vary somewhat, but this month's is definitely the very worst. I'm beginning to think it really got lost in the mail somewhere this time. I'm sure the editor will reply soon and we'll get things all squared away one way or another. And now I can really appreciate the problems you international members have to endure waiting a long time for mailed items. Hope VCCA can do something to speed up international mailings. Keep those Chevys rollin'.

January 18, 2007........a date to remember!!!!!!
The pony express finally delivered my January G&D today :)
As always, it's worth the wait, but.........this long is kinda ridiculous........I really feel for the international members who wait for months......not much sense in even looking at the classifieds at this point; anything I might have found is more than likely long gone by now.
Thanks folks for putting up with my blah-blah-blah. Love that 47 on the front cover.

Hey Ken,
Sort of like "all's well that ends well."
(It does seem like something could be done about the slow deliveries here and there. Altho I have NO idea what that might be.)
About the classifieds: some of the ads run month after month. Or pop up again after not running for a month or two. Seems like it's always worth at least a phone call.
And for whatever it's worth: nearly every time I click on a post of yours, I also click on your photo bucket thing so I can see your '48 again. I love that car. It's a beauty. I've always loved 'em. A HS buddy I've long since lost contact with had one. A '48.... and black too!!
Bill.

The contact information (email address and etc.) for the G&D editors is listed in the G&D on the page listing the Board of Directors in the front of the magazine. The editors are on the bottom right corner of the page under "Executive Chairman".
