See there Louis C., you got 63 "Cant's, Wont's, Wouldn't, Shouldn't, Impossibles, No-way's, Problem-with-that-is's, that-won't-work, Too-much info, Aaa-jeeze, and a few other less than supportive comments.

And who's keeping score but you did receive a few supporters ...maybe 10, depending on how your read the comments.

So that'll teach you to come up with a new idea...shame on your Louis.

As far as ME goes I think it's a wonderful idea, long over due and should be developed and worked on starting next week. Anniversary meet book might be some sort of kick start as well as those that wanna-volunteer info. And maybe a quick note to the regions could offer you some info.

And PLEASE, let me know how or if i can help you Lou.

Louis C.
When ever anyone new joins and are posted in The Newest Members section I punch into thier profile and if they have a '31 I write it down on a list sheet I keep. No telling how many I missed so I think your idea if it could be worked out would be great. Now I wish I had one on for '49's.

Thanks guys, I know I would find this information helpful so I thought this would also be helpful to others here too since I remember people here asking for this type of information on other strings in the past.

I am not able to do much physically right now on my cars but I still love to plan and research what to do and how I can do it.

I think the idea or concept got sidetracked with a concern that wasn't really a true concern and if we can get that out of the way we can maybe think about the concept and decide whether or not it is something that we want to do or even can do.

Maybe when there is a private VCCA members only section here on Chatter we can put it there for only the members to see and that want to participate. Just a thought...

Bill, maybe we are back on task now...I hope so. Cool...

While I think your idea has some merit for some who would elect to subscribe to it I do not feel that it got side tracked, but rather a question was raised as to why YOU elected not to provide specific information that you need of others for your idea to work.

What really got side tracked is your answer (or lack of one) to that question that was raised by both myself and 42Bill If I understand your thought correctly it could only work if everyone provided accurate information,.... so what the ???? It must be me and 42Bill. If you want give credibility for your idea then start first with your own profile, it would be a great starting point. This is not some sort of internet testosterone on my end,and I have no problems speaking my mind but I do prefer the face to face conversation, so trust me I would have no problem telling this to you in person as you insinuated I might have in your earlier post. In all honesty I am puzzeled as to why you will not provide the info yourself, but to make light of it....

I am thinking of moving to the moon, or even OZ, but then again UPS or Fedex does not ship there, and way to much rust in Atlantis, and besides there is no cable so I can't watch the Yankee's..... so I will stay here in NY

hope you feel better,
John

Hey Mac,

It seems funny to me that if either one of the threads you mention is (or isn't) closed it's a thread started by Gator, Louis, Louis C., Louis C.. etc. etc.

John,42bill, Why do you continue to do this? Please stop, it is not something that helps anyone or the club...How many times do I and others need to ask?

Here are the rules of conduct we all agreed to abide by here on Chatter, I thought that all of us here would be men of our word, especially if you consider yourself worthy of holding a position of leadership in the VCCA where benchmarks in behavior should be set for the rest of us to follow.

What are the rules of conduct for the forum?

Registration as a user implies acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
- Participants shall not post any material that is likely to cause offence, protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right - without the express permission of the owner of such copyright - or that contains personal contact information, phone numbers or addresses.
- Participants may not use the forums to post or transmit advertisements or commercial solicitations of any kind.
- The forum Administrators and Moderators have the right to edit, censor, delete or otherwise modify any posted message.
- This web site does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of the material posted to the forums or bear any responsibility for any loss, damage, or other liabilities caused by any posted message.

This is the last I will say to those who do not listen.

I apologize to the rest of the members here on Chatter that I was forced as a matter of honor to reply here in public to the public offenses and LIES directed toward me and it was something I had to do however I sincerely regret having to do it and I hope this has not harmed Chatter or the VCCA in any way. So sad...

PLEASE NOTE AGAIN, the question that was asked of Louis C was not answered AGAIN, and in his reply he did everything but answer the question. I never said anything bad about Louis, nor did I accuse him of anything, all I did was ask him why Louis did not list the information he would need for his project on his own profile. Please Louis, just answer the question that was asked of you, that is all.

I guess there is good reason why Louis C does not want to share where he really lives, the cars he owns or does not own, or even his VCCA membership number, considering that is the information that is needed for his "idea." I am sure there is reason for all of the identity changes, but I am not asking for those reasons, all I am asking him is why he elects not to post this information while he feels it is so essential. Which I feel (and many others privately)is a fair question.

As for you Louis, you are the one accusing people of things, namely 42Bill and myself. It is very nice that you can post all of the rules, but after reading them I do not see where anything was violated on my end. If I did I would not have done it, and I feel pretty sure that I did not step outside of the lines. FYI I make sure I know the rules before I get in the game.

Have a good day
John

Oh for Pete's sake, Louie. It appears more than ever that.... oh to heck with it.

How is it possible you can continue on with this??? What in heaven's name convinced you it was a good idea to print the "rules?" And in colorful/large type??

You seem bent on arguing/skirting the issue/etc, rather than simply responding to what some were/are wondering. Namely why is it that you think it's a good idea for others to provide info you apparently aren't willing to provide.

Instead of your inane arguing, it seems you could have just started your desired list yourself. I still think your original idea is without merit. However, before you let it slip away by starting all this, it seems you should have considered your chances of "winning" the argument (or your fight ??). Let's face it, I suppose you can push me around. But good luck locking horns with a guy from NYC who has his feet firmly planted and "knows the score." I know from years of doing business with those fellas they cut to the chase and they call BS when they see it.

The bottom line is there were some who wondered why you were asking about info you weren't (aren't) willing to provide. Some expressed what they were wondering. If that's a "problem" for you, I guess that's just how it is.

Incidentally, belated Happy Birthday.

Bill.

I suppose that someone always has to have the last word.........

Hasn't everyone on both sides of this fence got their point over, please agree to disagree, and have some closure to this thing.

How about some forgive and forget from both sides of this fence?
Is that too much to ask?

Mr Mack,
It is not a matter of the last word, all Louis has to do is answer the question and stop playing everyone as a jerk with all of this other BS he is hiding behind. No one is picking on Louis as he claims, just asking a question, that he refuses to answer and insists on avoiding answering. Now that you got yourself involved you tell us if he did answer the question when it was asked? Now also tell me that the question does not have merit?

This is actually an interesting topic but it seems that the topic keeps getting skirted... so after 7 pages of replies let's put this puppy down gracefully.

If someone wants to open a similar thread with suggestions, or ideas for HOW to make it work, then fire away. If you just want to discuss WHETHER it might work, then you're probably wasting your time. This crowd has already decided how much data they are willing to post for the world to see... and it appears to not be much.

Sometimes it takes a different approach for an idea to jell. I think that a membership database could allow individual members the ability to select which data they want to post publically and which they want the club to retain privately. Until we have that safeguard, it's probably a moot cause.

Based upon the above, and my own sense of tremendous authority and being all powerful, I hereby CLOSE DOWN THIS THREAD.
