Help! Does any one know if there is such a thing as a right or left handed glove compartment door? I have been looking on E-bay and there were two up for aution that looked opposite hand. Is this possible?

The right hand drive cars would have had the door on the left side of the dash but no reason for it to be different.Next time you see one on ebay post the ebay number so we can have a look at it.
Should have a clock hole in the center and locking/push button in the center. Was wood grained on the Master DeLuxe and painted on the Master 85.

Brian,
Thats very interesting. It appears to be a 1939 Master DeLuxe wood grained door with an ash tray stuck in the clock opening.I have never seen this before and was not offered by Chevrolet. The M.D. had an ash tray in the center of the dash.It was an accessory for the M. 85...problem is if you installed a radio it went in the center of the dash and you lost the ash tray.
This many be some after market thing (same clock opening was used from 1937-39 on Chevrolet -also on other GM cars) or some one adapted another ash tray to fit the opening.Nice if you want/need as ash tray and being original is not a concern. If they did not butcher the opening a clock or clock dummy plate could be insatlled in the opening.(i have a dummy from my car).
