Its shown in the 1934 parts book....3 Oz. can sold for 50 cents and 1/2 Gal can for $3.00.Just glancing thru the book numbers beginning with 364 seem to first show up in 1933 so I would guess thats the first year is was available. Its not listed in the 1939 parts book so was discontinued some time prior to 1938.....Yes its rare.

I did not find # 364164 Dry Lubricant listed in the 1929-1938 Chevrolet Master Parts Price List dated Sept. 1, 1938. However, I did find it listed in the Chevrolet Book of Parts for 1938 Models on page 74. This book is 6" x 9" and only carries part numbers for the 1938 Chevrolet models.

The March 1934 issue of Chevrolet Dealer News had it advertised on page 42.,,,Advertised to stop squeaks, factory approved and for full details see last months chevrolet Dealer news.Developed and made for General Motors Corp by The Shaler Company.A picture of the half gallon can is shown. This leads me to believe it was introduced in late 1933-early 1934.
The Shaler Company is here in Wisconsin and they are the makers of Rislone which is an oil additive still sold today.
The Chevrolet Dealer News was not published by Chevrolet but contained many informative articles and Chevrolet accessories were advertised by the companies that manufactored them for Chevrolet.

Part number 364164 first appears in the February 1, 1933 edition of the Chevrolet parts book, definitely making it an early 1933 accessory.

:) :tired: wink
