Hello my VCCA # is 32074 In group # 5510 part # 593009 with casting # 593009 is listed for (37-52 exc. PG.), # 3691463 (50-52 PG & 53-54) also has casting # of 593009 only with blue paint, could anyone tell me the difference in the two and will PG gears fit the 37-52 exc. PG. What do you look for if paint is missing? Thanks Ross

The pinion gear on the PG is larger in diameter (has 2 more teeth) so to keep the ring gear at the necessary thickness they machiened more off the case where it meets the ring gear.In other words the case is the same forging (or casting)-just more is ground off the PG case. This means that you could have the 4.11 case ring gear mounting surface ground down and would be good to go......The problem is that I have never seen figures on this so could not advise as how much to take off.If you could find a person with a PG case and have them measure the thickness of the outter part of the case you would have the magic number and could use your old case. The case fit all Power Glides and 1953-54 stick shift cars. If it was not ground down the proper ring gear to pinion adjustment could not be made.
