How many of you around here have completed a ground up restoration of an Advance Design Chevy truck ? I am in the middle of restoring a 1953 5 window & the work is going slow but I am making progress . Driveline & frame are done. Original 216 has been rebuilt & insert bearings installed. I am now working on painting & installing the cab & sheetmetal. ![[Linked Image from shutter10.pictures.aol.com]](http://shutter10.pictures.aol.com/data/pictures/09/00A/72/67/77/BA/Yejclo-zPZiLSj2yzWJ7yZSSpcaPxHH20300.jpg)

I have, one of the major problems were fitting the doors to the cab after replacing the floor boards and inter kick panels.

MT What you have done looks good. It is easy for me to say but dont start rushing it now or you will spoil the whole job. I must admit I have been very lax in doing my 38 (only been 25 years) but my priority list has been lost. Tony
1938 1/2 ton Hope to drive it before I retire

I have had two of these Advance Design trucks truly down to the bare frame and back up, one is still not quite done, maybe at 85% or so. And I have an unrestored one that is (really) my Daily Driver. It's the one on my "avitar" here.

Hello MT, That is a pretty good looking old truck for it to have been "Ground Up" at one time! I kinda look like I have been ground up a bit after trimming trees and getting really skined up. Keep up the good work on them old Chevy trucks. Is that one of your suburbans in the background? By the way I am dealing for a 1966 Chevrolet one ton that once was a Chevrolet dealer wrecker, when it was new. I think it is a dual boom Howe from what I have been told, it has a 350 and a granny 4 speed with PTO it originally had a 327 but had a new truck 350 put in back in 1993. I probably will trade my 1988 GMC 3/4 ton long bed with a 5 speed manual OD if the 66 looks decent. I always have wanted a wrecker.

Nice looking work MT . I did a '39 back in 1976 , drove it for 60,000 miles , got a '40 now , its been done since 1981, done less work in it , perhaps 57,000 miles . I just love it. don't figure I'll do another , hoping the '40 will see me out.
'40 - 1/2 ton , daily driver.

Great looking truck. Did a 49,50,53,54. Really like these trucks. My favorite was a 1950 half ton regular truck that was used as a Fire Chief's truck for Sheffield Alabama Fire Dept. Did it in 1995 and the truck had 16k on odometer. Was compete with siren, radio, fire hose and big light on roof. It had a nice option of full chrome 16" hubcaps. Keep up the good work.
