What color should the sheet metal panels on the bottom of the the body of my 31 coupe 5 window be painted? Body color or black? Also, what color should the inside of the trunk and trunk floor be painted?

The generally accepted finish for the underbody and interior is black. The paint was not a high gloss like used on the show surfaces but not a flat either. The object apparently was to provide a little corrosion protection. The inside of the sheet metal panels might have had a preservative like the wood structure did but never found any real paint on original unmolested parts.

For some time I have checked the eBay for buying trunk boxes. One was green both out- and inside, but the four others were all painted black both sides. I also saw some on Chevys in Grand J. and they also had the black paint on inside. The wood in the floor of the box was not color painted.
