Hello Ozmax I have done the same job some weeks ago. The cam shaft was very worn, and the centralizer was "freezeen" in one place. I took a adjustable reamer and ream out the bronze bussing in the centralizer so I have a circular hole. Weld the worn cam shaft, and turn it down in a lathe to fit the "new" hole in the centralizer. I think it will work many year without the hard chrome. I have install a oil nipple on the top of the house to lubricate the centralizer and the shaft with a drop of oil. I have also install grease nipple in the rear axle to lubricate the hand brake shaft My be this can help you ![[Linked Image from img142.imageshack.us]](http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/6984/frambrems001ze2.jpg) ![[Linked Image from img330.imageshack.us]](http://img330.imageshack.us/img330/6417/frambrems005rf2.jpg) ![[Linked Image from img329.imageshack.us]](http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/3661/frambrems006il8.jpg) From Norway Arvid http://www.chevroletnorge.com

Thanks Ray and Arvid I did a seach prior to posting and could not find and info. Arvi you always seem to come up with some great solutions. What about oil geting into the brake linings? What did you do about the rubber in the centralizer. Cheers Ozmax

Ho Ozmax If you get oil on the brake linings, you have used a lot of oil. I think 2-3 drops of oil ones a year will do the lubrication you need, and you will have the linings dry an clean. I make new rubber washer of a 5 mm oil resistant rubber plate. The only duty of the rubber is to hold the centralizer, not to loose and not to hard. ![[Linked Image from img124.imageshack.us]](http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/1641/frambrems008ow8.jpg) Regards Arvid http://www.chevroletnorge.com
