Hi
I join the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and paid $30.00 to join check number 2874 dated April 14, 2006. I received a pin in the mail in an envelope with no letter or anything else in writing, just the pin. I cannot join the regional club without the pin number from the national club. It is your rule. I would like the number so I can proceed with the regional club.

Hi There! You need to contact the VCCA membership secretary and she will probably be able to help you. Here is the email address:

membershipsecretary@vcca.org

Good luck!

Here is what I would do.
Find out the time and day for the regions next meeting or event. The membership secretary can verify your national membership is current.
Just show the membership secretary of the region your badge (pin), at their local members meeting, and tell her/him you are a new VCCA Member and want to join the region. I think that you are fortunate to get a pin within a month. By pin I am thinking it is a membership badge with a laminated VCCA Logo and a clip to pin on your shirt, and a slide in slot on the bottom for a name label?

We (Lone Star Region) enroll non-members in VCCA, at our monthly meeting with the provision that the membership secretary collect your national dues for a year, you fill out a national application and a region application and also the region dues. The Secretary then forwards the national fee and Application and enrolls you in the region, and gives you a membership badge.
If anyone attends one of our monthly meetings, we get your name and address, ask you to join, and send you a news letter for the next couple of months to encourage you to return to the region meetings and JOIN!
It must work since we have over 100 members, and spouces in the club.

When I joined in January the name badge arrived in early Febuary and welcoming letter late feb. I could not understand why the 2 mailings as they could have been combined.

Hey Klide,

I hope all goes smoothly for you with your "paperwork" type stuff. Sometimes it doesn't happen as fast as we'd like. All I can do is urge you to not get frustrated if it doesn't go fast enough.

Keep in mind the VCCA is mostly a 'volunteer' organization. Although we all love the Chevy Club, those volunteer folks also have jobs, families, kids, etc. etc. and sometimes it takes a little while for them to get their Chevy Club duties handled.

WELCOME ABOARD!!!

I hope you enjoy the VCCA as much as I have for nearly 30 years!!!

Bill.

Hi Klide-read the post titled"jack" under 29-32.The same subject came up.Send an email to membershipsecretary@vcca.org and you should get a prompt reply-It was also suggested that you could submit the local application and make a note on it that the national application has been applied for.Once you receive your number it can be added to the local records.

Our Region membership secretary often collects the local dues and national too. The national is sent in and then the local recorded with the membership number as "pending". Once the number is shown on the new member page of the G&D then the actual number used to replace the "pending". Simple, easy and works. If they do not already, the local Regions should be instructed to give a provisional status for those desiring to join.

Regions have to validate that their "regional member" belong to the National only once a year... on December 31st.

I'd be surprised if any region didn't welcome you with open arms and "trust" that you've applied. The National isn't going to need the correlation until after the first of next year.

Welcome!!!

Chipper has the right idea. Our region(Lone Star)encourages the new members to make payment for both local and national dues to our local membership sect. As treasurer of the local region the membership sect. gives me the new members payment and I send a local club check to national for the new members dues. This way we immediately have a record that the new members name has been forwarded to national for membership.
