Fellow Chevrolet enthusiast, and all around "GOOD GUY", Gary Halford passed away in the early hours of October 26, 2006 after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. A memorial service visitation was held this past Sunday. Gary was a member of the Lake Erie Region.

Gary was one of the BEST. He was always ready to help anyone in need. I have known him and his wife Pat for 40 years. Many good memories.

I'm not sure I have the right guy here, but I met a fellow at the Natl Meet in Rapid City who I think may have been Gary Halford. As I recall he said he was from Cleveland. And that he had one (or some) 58 Impalas. Tall slim guy. A really nice man. I think that may be the same guy being written about in this thread. All I can say is sad news; and if the same guy, definitely a great guy!!!
Prostate Cancer. Bad deal. I feel fortunate to be a survivor of Prostate Cancer......

Bill, You have the right Guy. He had a 58 Convertable. For many years he drove a 34 Standard Sedan to all the meets.

Hey Jim,
Thanks for confirming it was Gary Halford that I was remembering. As noted above, I certainly couldn't say I knew Gary very well, but from just a few conversations in Rapid City 10 years ago in 1996, I'd sure agree with the description of "all around good guy."
I'm certainly sorry to hear of his passing. Especially from something like prostate cancer; especially here in the 21st Century.
Sad.....
Bill.
