Chip,
"Chevy USA" sort of leaves out the international dudes. VCCAchatter.org might sneak by as it is an official address. mmmm...

We will have to write our own by-laws modeled after the VCCA By-Laws. They have to meet the needs of the proposed Region, and can not be in conflict with the current VCCA By-Laws.

We will also have to pick a name.

Cool Captain. Who's the Director? Rod Sterling?

11. Mike McCagh signed on a little while ago.

Thanks Captain, but a Director needs to have a lot more experience than me! I'm just a Chevy guy who likes hanging out with other Chevy guys.

Ray,& Capt. Harley , I think Rwiz will make a fine Director, remember we are trying to kinda get away from that "Good Ole Boy" appearance!

Believe you me, You don't have to know everything to be a good Region Director, just have good friends and fellow officers and helpers that do know what is going on, and keep the lines of communication lines open!

I believe in the "delegation of duty" system!
(can't you tell?)

I think we need three things in the name

(1) Chat
(2) International
(3) Chevrolet

International for those that are not in the US of A Or Canada. And it could also be for the Chevrolet International Model, if we need a specific car for the Non-Geographical Region.

Who has a copy of a regions by-laws and stuff that we could use as a guide?

This would be a 'special' region and should have a private members only link on Chatter for us to use...a lot of the stuff that would be discussed at 'Worldwide Chevy Chatter' (or whatever we name it) would also be topics on strings here on the general chatter site.IMHO

On our private site (wherever it is) I think we should get to know each other some, so a picture of ourselves and our cars and a blurb about our selfs, etc would be 1 way to do this. IMHO

We could even have virtural car shows...LOL

I hope Ray does this and I hope he doesn't feel like this is more than he wants to do...I will help all I can but I don't know much. Mike has a lot of experience with running a group maybe we can talk him into helping out even more than he does already.

When you ask for an application and have the required number of charter members for starting a region , the BOD should send a "Starting a Region" set of materials, be sure to ask, We will need someones address for the materials to be sent to, I would suggest whoever is going to be one of the officers use their mailing address, It is going to take a while to dot all the "I"s and cross all the "TEES" , but you have to apply first.

How about something simple that says it all?

"Chevy Chatter Region"

Saying "Chevy Chattter" means it covers the entire world.

IMHO

Louis C.,

How about this version:

VCCA Chatter Region

or

VCCA Internet Chat Region

The powers that be in Club would probably be more
inclined to support a name like that. IMHO

I was thinking similarly to capt. h., as in "vcca online region"...if you can get online, then you're in our region...

I like all of them...capt. and kepi. "VCCA Chatter Region" does sort of say it all, IMHO.

This might be harder than I thought...

Once we get everyone 'enrolled' with RGwiz maybe we 'members' could vote on names and narrow it down to a few for a final vote to pick one?

Welcome aboard fella's.

It's never to late to jump in, so keep those emails comming.
With the timing so close to Grand Junction I wonder if we should wait to file after some of you have met in Colorado? We may get more bodies after you guys have talked it up a bit.
What do you all think? Should we go ahead and file this application before June 30th or wait untill you all get home?

You're right Louis C, and I like them all too. I like the idea of the enrolled 'members' voting to narrow it down, then voting on say the final two or three for the final name. Personally, I'm torn between 'Chevy Chatter Region' and 'VCCA Chatter Region'. Captain H has a point about the 'powers that be' being more inclined with VCCA in the title....after all we are doing something new and different. Sometimes I guess that's frowned upon. But hopefully we can do this with a little cooperation from everyone.

Could you use the GJ meeting to get or give paperwork to the powers that be?

A lot of people are real busy right now getting ready for GJ.

Your call on waiting or not as far as I am concerned.

Louis C,
Thanks for the PM today. I email Joe a while back on another subject.
Keeping it simple might be the best.
"VCCA Chatter Region" sounds simple to me too.
Yep, we could list all the region names in a poll and have a vote on it.
