Before anyone reads this see my last post on the "Chatter is my local Club"

I figure the first thing to say is;

!THANK YOU ALL FOR GETTING BEHIND THIS!

This could be the start of a very interesting time here on the VCCA web site. We are on the cutting edge of this technology and hopefully we all will be able to make it even more exciting for all VCCA members to enjoy, have fun, and be able to help one another.

Our specific interest in common is the use of computer technology when applied to the restoration and preservation of Chevrolets.

How many times have each of you had to stop and try to figure out just what part was missing or check the manuals for specifications. How about the time when you said to yourself "there has got to be a better or easier way to do this".

I think that's what we are all about here. Helping one another so that we can help others. If we have some laughs while doing it, all the better.

OK. Let's get down to business.

1)We need a name. Nominations are now open for discussion. (According to the VCCA Secretary's report published in the June G&D non-geographic regions will be called "Chapters")

I nominate "Chat Chapter" or "Chatter Chapter".

2. Selection of Officers. Nominations are now open for discussion.

I nominate:
a) "Junkyard Dog" for President, because he has the most posts.
b) "Chipper" for Asst.President, so he can keep the Dog on a short leash.
c) "ChevyBill" for Treasurer, because he's got the most common sense.
d) "Louis C." for Secretary, because he will dot every i and cross every t.

(although all you guys should know that "MrMack" and "cordman" have been a tremendous help to me, and I would like to nominate both of them, they both hold positions elsewhere).

With all due respect to all of you charter members of this 1st non-geographic region;

How about RGwiz for secretary instead of me. I think RGwiz has his finger on the process and knows what to do much better than me.

I second the nomination for all of the other offices. Now how about a second from someone for RGwiz for secretary.

Are we going to have a 'closed' link for our chapter?

Chevybill (Bill Bradford) is currently on the National BOD. I nominate RGwiz for Secretary.

If the nominees have given their permission to run. we have a good slate.

I vote for Chatter Chapter, a Non-Georaphical region or chapter of VCCA

Wow, 4 posts here and I'm getting confused already....but here goes---

JunkYard Dog for Pres.
Chipper for Asst. Pres.
Louis C. for Treasurer(MrMack says Chevybill can't do it because he's on the National BOD)

A name ... of the two names thrown into the hat I would vote for CHATTER CHAPTER, but going back to previous posts, how about CHEVY CHATTER CHAPTER (CCC) ? I don't want to slow things down by adding more names to consider, so if no one else likes CCC, I'm good with plain old CC (add a splash of vermouth to that CC and I'm really good with it). No kidding I'm not gonna get hung up on a name. Let's keep it moving in the right direction.

I agree with Mack. ChevyBill allready holds a National post. I just thought a guy with National experience might be good with the money.

Let's hear more sides to this, especialy from the candidates. Then we should set up a poll to hold an election.

OK, I throw my hat in to run for Secretary.

We need a few more nominations to make it look good. Come on guys....

cold kegs ALWAYS reside here on the farm. Beast. one in family room, one at poolside and one in the shop. shop keg lives about 1/3 as long as other two. you really need to come east for a look-see dawg. hope ya take the boys up on the pres nomination skip.mike

First, if anyone actually expects me to be able to keep the dogface on a short leash then I have a century old masonry bridge to sell you. Since the Asst. Pres normally does nothing I might be able to fill that job. Maybe since there will not be any money and I have experience handling nothing that Treasurer might be a better office?

I really prefer Chat Chapter as it connotes a pleasant discussion. Chatter more commonly depicts unorganized chaos. I don't think we need that moniker. Yes, it's all in a name!

No one can keep this dog on a short leash, not even Mrs. Junkyard Dog......let alone a Chippy Dippy Dude!

Ya, once again I totally agree with Chip The Dip (man, I just gotta quit doing that)....when it comes to doing absolutely nothing Dippy Chippy is a real expert!

I will help with pictures, scans and general photography posts and so on. I still have quite a bit of unused web storage available for those members that are without web storage.

I am swayed by the argument for Chat Chapter and since the President has no vote except to break or make a tie (Robert's Rules of Order, Revised)
JYD is the perfect candidate.

I think I heard the sound of a plan coming together...fantastic!!!

A couple of ideas, BigBob offer of help sounds like the title of "Chat Chapter Historian" and Bill could add the title "webmaster" to his title. Also JAR41 sounds like our Parliamentarian to me...and Mike as social secretary....Just MHO only.

I agree with everything that has been said.

We are moving ahead like we all have free wheeling.

Realize that all the signed on guys have not yet surfaced. I propose we wait a few days before closing the nominations. It's possible to get this portion done before this Friday 7/28. I just think it's not right to wrap this up on a Sunday night when the other guys may be away for the weekend.

There is 12 present out of the 24 signed up. That's still 50%, and 12 are required. So what do you guys think?

I am going to contact some of the missing thru email. If they respond that's great, if not will still have the 12 of us...just make sure you all come back everyday so we maintain the 12 and we can get this part finished.
