It is my understanding that general discussions are topics not related to Chevrolet that may be of interest to people who you choose to let express their views. If not you must close this site or begin paying taxes like the rest of us!!!

It will no longer be a hobby site!

VCCA is an orginization you are not.

I don't know how to make it any clearer.... the wording at the top of the General Discussion forum reads as follows:
Quote
Here is a place to discuss some non-auto topics with other Chevy people.

These could include: Trailers, Memorabilia, Toys, Traveling, Fraternal organizations, Jobs, College, Genealogy, Computers, etc.
Political comments are not appropriate and may be deleted.
Please use it as a place for making an initial connection with other people who have similar interests,
This is NOT a place for solving the problems of the world! :-)
This one forum is open to non-Chevrolet discussions that may be of mutual interest to Chevrolet enthusiasts... For example to discuss a second common hobby such as Ham Radio, kids toys, or a mutual connection such as High School or College affiliations, or a vacation trip that might be of interest to touring members, etc etc .

It is NOT for political or other other non-value topics. If you have a topic that is burning a hole in your brain and it doesn't fit the above criteria, then TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. We don't want it here. You can find plenty of other locations to express your political, sexual, or personal views.

Thanks to everyone who understands and supports this. This site is funded 100% by bona-fide Chevrolet enthusiasts.

Guys, I think (maybe) John's post had to do with the closing of the "Steelers" string (also in the "General Discussions" catagory), where people were talking about football and other sports and the site was closed with a comment that said we need to be talking about Chevys instead of what was being discussed.

Quote:

"Good discussion guys... but this topic was only intended as a minor breach of our policy for game day.

Those of us in the Seattle area appreciate all of the comments... but let's get back to Chevy talk now.

THIS THREAD IS CLOSED.... (until next year!!)"

Maybe this is what sparked John's comment, don't know; sorry if that is not the reason John.

Hello jerrygolf,

The future on this site is pretty easy to predict
anymore.

Just get an exchange of ideas that don't go along with the GURU of the left coast and this thread is closed.

There are a great bunch of guys on here but the control factor sucks.

The guys who have been given positions of power are afraid to express their views because they will be slapped down by the GURU of the left coast.

I'm here to the bitter end!

I have no beef with you Ray. You always like to duke it out.

I'm only talking about one minded people who want to control everyone and everything.

I for one can see Mr. Bill suggesting that we close this General Discussions page for good. I hope it dosn't happen. But I can see why it might.

Many times I've come here and see some of the bickering that there just is no need for. Insults aimed at the Moderators or Members posting comments to other members suggesting they leave the site.

Enough allready!

I have enjoyed this site for five years and loved allmost every minute of it. Mr. Bill has performed way beyond what most of us expect from him considering what he is paid. I see no reason to direct insults or what I consider contrived paranoia that he's directing a takeover.

These pages are supposed to be for all Members to enjoy during their downtime like entertainment. I would hate to see it fall apart due to a few unhappy, unwilling, and bored beyond their years people, that think "Chatter" is a place to come and vent.

These General Discussion pages have turned into an editorial page and it's not what Mr. Bill has designed it as. Let's all wake up and take advantage of a good thing and not use it as "a place for solving the problems of the world".

If you insist on solving a World Problem may I suggest you start with Man's inhumanity to Man.

RGwiz. Thanks for your comments. If everyone would use the General Discussion site the way It Is meant to be used,There would not be any problems. If It gets out of hand on any subject, Then MR BILL by all means sould close the thread. If anyone has a problem with that, I suggest they step up and get Involved with running the chat site. The pay Is great, ZERO, And all the hours It takes to run this chat site Is enormous. For the people who volunteer to take these tasks on and try and make It good for everyone, How could It get any better. Thanks Bill for all your hard work and time spent. chevy

"I can predict the future for poor ol' John".

And I can predict your future RGWIZ - Whimp that you are!

Your post speaks for Bill? Or are you just sucking up.

You speak of someone asked to leave the site. I guess you mean the poor guy from Alabama who was attacked because he took issue with the SACRED COW, "The Filling Station". His wife was attacked openly on the site which I found extremely distasteful. Talk about inhumanity to man!

How do you know what, Mr. Bill is paid? Are you on the board of directors or maybe you work in payroll.

Follow the money!

We do appreciate Bill's efforts and his comments on working on his car made me laugh. I've got a long time project car also and find the help and encouragement of VCCA members on this chat site helps keep me from just selling off the old girl and slowly working to finish. Let's please be kind to one another and remeber to apologize and forgive instead of getting angry and hurt.
